Es Torrent de Pareis
One of the most spectacular natural spaces in Mallorca, Es Torrent de Pareis is a steep, 3-kilometre (1.86-mile) deep canyon formed by the torrential action of water on the cliffs of the rugged Serra Tramontana mountain range.
Exploring Es Torrent de Pareis
To reach the beach at Torrent de Pareis in Mallorca, you’ll pass through two tunnels carved into the rock, keeping the view hidden and the sense of mystery alive until the very last moment. In one of the tunnels, there’s a crack in the rock offering a stunning glimpse that’s a true treat for the senses. Beyond the opening, the sea stretches out in front of you, glowing in a range of striking blue tones.
Once through the tunnel, you'll arrive at the cove of Sa Calobra, nestled between the towering, rugged rock walls of the torrent. This striking landscape has a way of making every visitor feel wonderfully small in its vastness.
Despite the majestic surroundings and its crystal-clear turquoise waters, the cove of Sa Calobra is not the best option for a day at the beach, since, despite its unreal-looking surroundings, the ground is made up of rocks, it has no services of any kind, it is somewhat small and is usually full of people.
Many hiking and nature lovers decide to descend Es Torrent de Pareis on foot, but this is an option that's only recommended for experienced hikers, as it is not an easy route.
During the first week of July, Es Torrent de Pareis dresses up to receive an amazing open-air concert in which the sounds dance between each of the corners of the cliff to create a magical spectacle, so if you are planning to travel to Mallorca during those dates, it may be an option to take into account.
