
Fornalutx
Located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, Fornalutx is one of the most visited villages in Mallorca and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
With a history that began 1,000 years ago as a small Moorish farm, after the Catalan conquest, Fornalutx began to expand into the pleasant village it is today.
Thanks to its location in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Fornalutx is a beautiful stop along the way for hikers and cyclists who venture out to explore the mountain range.
What to See in Fornalutx
When planning what to do in Fornalutx, it's important to bear in mind that the main attraction is to wander around the village and soak up its charm. Wandering through the narrow, steep cobbled streets, you'll come across small stone houses with red roofs surrounded by orange and lemon groves that look out over the Valley of Sóller.
Town Hall: One of the most special buildings in Fornalutx is its Town Hall, a traditional style building with a 17th century defence tower attached to it.
Can Xoroi: To learn about the history and culture of Fornalutx, you can visit this noble house where old photographs are displayed to discover the village's past.
Plaza de España: The main square of Fornalutx is the beating heart of the town. It's surrounded by nice bars and restaurants with terraces that make it the ideal place to enjoy a meal.
Church of Fornalutx: This 13th century temple has a combination of Gothic and Baroque styles. Near the church, you'll find the village's most peculiar and striking narrow streets.
How to Get to Fornalutx
The easiest way to get to Fornalutx is by car. It is practically impossible to park in the streets of the village, so the best option is to go directly to one of its car parks.
If you do not have a rental car, it is also possible to get to Fornalutx by bus from Sóller and from Palma using bus lines 210 and 211.
Fornalutx is located a short distance from Sóller, so if you're planning to visit both towns, we recommend making the most of your trip and combine the two visits.
