Platja des Trenc
Considered one of the best beaches in Mallorca for its breathtaking natural surroundings, Platja des Trenc is a pristine stretch of coastline—a little slice of paradise on the Mediterranean.
Located in the town of Campos, in the south of the island, Platja des Trenc, or Es Trenc Beach, occupies a narrow strip barely 20 metres wide (65 feet) that stretches along practically 2 kilometres (1.24 miles) of coastline.
Covered with fine white sand that blends into the clear, shallow waters that resemble a tranquil swimming pool, Es Trenc is a very popular beach for islanders and tourists alike.
One of the Best Beaches in Mallorca
It's difficult to describe Platja des Trenc in words, but surprisingly easy to feel it once you set foot on the sand. What is really difficult is leaving once you've enjoyed a sunset from its sand, as the colours of the sunset create a magical picture that is impossible to forget.
The greatest charm of Platja des Trenc is its tranquility, something that also translates into a lack of services such as showers or restaurants. Nature wins on this stunning beach, but if you're one of those who need all kinds of luxuries on the beach, Platja des Trenc is not what you are looking for.
It's also worh nothing, Platja des Trenc is one of the main nudist beaches in Mallorca, especially at the far ends.
A Stroll Along the Shore
Close to the beach are the well-known salt flats of Es Trenc, the island's most popular place for extracting gourmet salt. The crystals from these flats are used to make salts combined with all kinds of flavours that are carefully packaged and are usually included in the shopping list of all those who visit the island.
One of the details that usually catches the eye when you arrive at Es Trenc is that at the ends of the beach, you can still see “machine gun nests”, concrete constructions that were installed during the Second World War but never used.
How to Get to Platja des Trenc
It's important to bear in mind that the only way to get to Platja des Trenc in Mallorca is by car. In the vicinity of the beach, you can find several pay-and-display car parks. There's the option of arriving by bus, but we don't recommend this as it's slow and uncomfortable. You can also get to Es Trenc with a day trip by boat:
During the summer months, the beach tends to be quite crowded. However, thanks to the length of the beach, it's always possible to find a little area to enjoy the tranquillity of its extensive coastline with the Cabrera archipelago as a backdrop.
