Drach Caves
Patiently formed as a beautiful whim of nature that extends up to 25 metres deep (82 feet), the Drach Caves of Mallorca are a true spectacle of stalactites and stalagmites that hover over beautifully illuminated underground lakes.
Exploring the Drach Caves
With a route of more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) long through the majestic Drach Caves, you can find different rooms of varying sizes in which stalactites and stalagmites hang in a wild and disorderly way to create incredible shapes.
Forests, palm trees, decorative elements or animal shapes. The varied natural formations of the caves offer a special panorama, ideal for visitors to let their imagination run wild.
Despite the cold and damp atmosphere underground, the caves are so pleasantly illuminated that they offer visitors a warm embrace, enveloping them with their endless tentacles of water and limescale.
Crossing the numerous rooms of the Drach Caves, you'll come across various lakes in which the different rock formations are shown in duplicate as they meet their reflection.
Nature & Art
At the end of the tour, when the visit seems to be coming to an end, is actually the highlight. Occupying the steps of the theatre with the most unusual decorations, it's possible to enjoy a surprising classical music concert in which the musicians move slowly along the lake on board small boats.
The concert takes place in a dome that serves as an amphitheatre, a space that offers magnificent acoustics while facing a very special stage, Lake Martel. More than 100 metres long and 30 metres wide (328 feet long and 98 feet wide), it is one of the longest underground lakes in the world and is located at sea level, at a depth of 27 metres (88 feet).
After the concert, you can cross the lake in one of the boats to enjoy the visit to the Drach Caves in all their splendour, ending the tour in contact with one of the most important elements of the cave, the water.
A Great Visit
The Drach Caves are one of the main tourist attractions in Mallorca, and we highly recommend visiting them, especially if you've never been to a cave before.
Unfortunately, since it's one of the most popular sites on the island, it's likely to be quite busy and you can't enjoy the caves as they should be fully enjoyed.
