One of the Best Beaches in Mallorca

The spectacular beach of Formentor is one of the best beaches in Mallorca. Its location in one of the island's most secluded, unspoilt spots makes it a magical place that enchants all those who visit it.

Located in Cap de Formentor, the beach has a narrow strip of sand about a kilometre long surrounded by a pine forest, which is ideal for shelter during the hottest days of the summer. Although it tends to be quite crowded in high season, it's a fairly quiet environment.

One of the most striking areas of the beach is the charismatic Hotel Formentor, a luxurious beachfront establishment that opened in 1930, and from the very first moment, it became a magnet for all kinds of celebrities.

How to Get to Platja de Formentor

Mallorca's Platja de Formentor is one of the most beautiful on the island, and its secluded location makes it even more charming. As with the rest of the beaches, it's possible to get there by boat, although the most common ways of getting to Platja de Formentor are by car, using the nearby car park (not a budget-friendly option if you're going to spend a lot of time there), or by bus from Port of Pollença.

It's advisable to take advantage of your visit to Platja de Formentor to see some of the island's most interesting places in the surrounding area. Following the road and going through dozens of impossible bends, you'll come face to face with the Faro de Formentor lighthouse, a terrace with views of the majestic natural surroundings of Cap de Formentor.

If you still have enough time and are staying in another part of Mallorca, you can take advantage of the fact that you are in the area to visit the nearby town of Alcudia. The ancient capital of Mallorca is a pleasant walled city in which you can still find numerous Roman remains.
