Free Walking Tour of Valldemossa

In the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains lies Valldemossa, a small town that legendary composer Frédéric Chopin once called "the most beautiful place in the world". Let's explore it!

After meeting at the Valldemossa Tourist Office at 10:30 am, we'll start our free walking tour of the town, which is just under 11 miles (17 kilometres) from Palma de Mallorca. During the tour, we'll tell you intriguing stories about the princes, aristocrats, and artists who frequented its charming narrow streets.

Our free walking tour will begin with a stroll through the beautiful Jardins Rei Joan Carles before coming to the impressive Valldemossa Charterhouse. This former royal residence was once home to Chopin and the writer George Sand. Did you know that this place inspired both of them to compose a symphony and a novel?

Next, we'll pass by the Palace of King Sancho, built by his father, James II of Mallorca. We'll then stop at the Lledoners viewpoint where you'll be enchanted by the spectacular views of Valldemossa. Afterwards, we'll continue along the old Carrer de la Rosa until we reach the Gothic Church of Sant Bartomeu.

The tour will then take us to the birthplace of Santa Catalina Tomás to learn about the life of this patron saint of Mallorca. We'll also make a stop in Valldemossa's Plaça Pública, where we will be transported back to the Middle Ages as we stroll along its ancient streets.

We'll then finish our tour at 12:30 pm in Plaça del Rentadors after learning what this small square is famous for.
